Over the next two days, 2010 Ohio graduate Taylor Price will have a chance to burn any frequent flyer miles he has racked up over the years
After being cut by the New England Patriots today, he could end up on any of the NFL’s 32 teams by Monday at 4:00p.m.
Price, a member of Ohio’s 2006 and 2009 Mid-American Conference East championship teams, was selected 90
th
overall by the Patriots in the 2010 NFL Draft. Since, he has not had much of an opportunity to prove himself in game action. He has played in only four NFL regular season games, in which he had three receptions for 41 yards.
Price had his shining moment for the Patriots on August 11 of this year, when he had a team-high 105 yards and a touchdown in New England’s 47-12 preseason win against Jacksonville at Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots’ decision to waive Price was unexpected. With his dismissal, room opened up on the 53-man roster for offensive lineman Nick McDonald, who was brought up from the practice squad.
Price has been inactive this season despite dressing for three games.
While at Ohio, Price caught 149 passes while at Ohio, totalling 2,019 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was also active in kick and punt return situations and threw for a pair of touchdowns during his tenure in Athens.
