A write-in candidate has joined four others in the race against incumbent Mark Sullivan for an Athens County Commissioner seat this November.
Former Athens County Emergency Management Director Randy Mace has filed as a write-in candidate.
Mace served as emergency management director for almost 15 years and has lived in the county his entire life. Mace also graduated from Alexander High School and from Ohio University in 1975 with a degree in journalism.
Sullivan is being challenged in the Democratic Primary by four candidates, Paul “Smoke” Barrett of Glouster, Robert Baughman of Nelsonville, Chris Chmeil of Albany and Mike O’Brien of Shade.
