More than 3,000 Athens County American Electric Power customers are without power this morning.
There are two significant outages in the county, one of which was a planned outage to repair equipment. More than 1,200 residents’ power was turned off at 11:15 a.m. and is planned to be restored at 12:30 p.m. today.
Another outage that occurred early this morning affects 2,585 customers in the Armitage Road area. AEP crews are unsure of the cause of the outage, and are now investigating it.
