Free donuts distributed in Baker today

Ohio University has resurrected its popular “free donut day.”

Fun Affairs, a small business from Easton, Pa., will be giving out free donuts today on the third floor of Baker University Center until 1 p.m.

Yes — the donuts are free, and there are no strings attached.

“Student Activities invited us here,” said Neal Fehnel, the owner of Fun Affairs. “This is one of the programs we do, but (making donuts) is the only one we have done on (OU’s) campus; we (also) do teddy bear stuffing, cake decorating and chocolate dipping.”

“The money that we use (to pay Fun Affairs) comes from general funds included in tuition,” said Brian Heilmeier, coordinator for campus programs for the Campus Involvement Center.

In the next week, the Campus Involvement Center will also be hosting James Kakalios, The Science of Superheroes at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium; showing The Ides of March at 7 p.m. Jan. 11, at Baker Theatre; and offering laser tag at 4 p.m. Jan 18 at Baker Ballroom.

All three events will also be free to students.
