Post Letter: Columnists shouldn't make 'hasty generalizations'

I am a sport management major at Ohio University. I have never smoked weed a day in my life. I have had three internships, and I am only a sophomore. I was an athlete in high school and I am an athlete in college.

The fact that I play sports has nothing to do with the major I chose. Nor did it have an effect on any of the other 10,000-plus who have graduated from one of the top three sport management programs in the world.

In fact, this is one of the top programs at the university you attend. Did you know that?

You’re a journalism major, correct? Clearly if you knew anything about being a good journalist, you would know that to start your career, you don’t want to offend thousands of your peers and faculty.

I think you should get a little more information about the sport management program before you make hasty generalizations to that effect.

Sincerely,

I Will Have a Job Before You

Jenna Martin is a sophomore studying sport management.
