Billy Caudill, the possibly armed fugitive who was reported seen near Ohio University’s campus Thursday, turned himself in to the Fairfield County Sheriff Sunday.
Caudill is accused of robbing the Peoples Bank Wednesday in Carroll.
“We heard some statements saying he may have been armed, so we wanted to make sure everyone was being cautious,” Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen said.
Phalin said Caudill willingly turned himself on Sunday at 1:40 PM.
Ohio University Police said Caudill was believed to be near Shafer and Union streets and was to be considered “armed and dangerous” at the time.
The commotion resulted in various text messages, emails and phone calls sent to the Ohio University student body before police reported the following day Caudill was believed to be away from OU’s campus.
