Yesterday a contractor working for O’Bleness Memorial Hospital drilled though an eight-inch water main near the hospital.
The Athens Department of Engineering and Public Works is was working in
full capacity yesterday to fix the leak.
Nick Joseph, Department Supervisor, is overseeing the repair and has enlisted the help of the cities sewer crew.
The Athens Fire Department was informed the water pressure in the O’Bleness sprinkler systems and fire hydrants will not run at full capacity until the problem is resolved.
