Sibs Weekend: Schedule of events

FRIDAY

What: Open Stage with Bruce Dalzell

When: 8 p.m. to Midnight

Where: The Front Room at Baker University Center

Admission: Free

 

What: Star Gazing and Bonfire at The Ridges

When: 7 to 11:30 p.m.

Where: The Ridges

Admission: $8 per person

George Eberts, Ohio University Professor, will provide an evening of marshmallows, bonfires, and stars. The fee does include snacks and transportation.

 

What: Sibs Fest On West

When: 8:30 p.m. to Midnight

Where: Boyd Dining Hall  

Including a DJ, a dance floor, bingo and more! There will also be prizes include a wide variety of prizes such as a Nintendo 3 DS, an iPod Touch and more.

 

What: School of Art Biennial Faculty Exhibition

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Kennedy Museum of Art

Admission: Free

Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the College of Fine Arts, the museum is featuring artwork from a wide range of mediums including painting, sculpture and drawing.

 

What: Undergraduate Juried Exhibition

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Ohio University Art Gallery, Seigfred Hall

Admission: Free

Presented by The School of Art the exhibition will highlight artwork created by college’s students.

 

What: The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Adaptation by David Fishelson

When: 8 p.m.

Where: The Forum Theater, RTV Building

Admission: Free for students, $10 general admission, $7 senior citizens

Presented by The School of Theater and directed by Jamie Lish. The play creates a combination nineteenth century Russia and twenty-first century America. Can the prince find his way through a world of love and power, virtue and corruption.

 

SATURDAY

What: Old Man's Cave Day Hike

When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Old Man's Cave

Admission: $15 per person

The on-campus program — outdoor pursuits will be leading a hike through the wilderness and Old Mans Cave of Hocking Hills. The hike features waterfalls, cliffs and a thrill.

 

What: Frame Your Sib!

When: Noon to 3 p.m.

Where: Kennedy Museum of Art, Lin Hall, The Ridges

Admission: Free, artwork service charge is $5.

The museum will give sibs a chance to have an artwork created and framed.

 

What: Sibs Fun House

When: 7 to 11 p.m.

Where: Baker University Center

Admission: Free

The event will include bumper cars, mini golf, derby racers, balloon artists, face painting, glitter tattoos and popcorn.

Tickets will be on sale Monday - Friday from 12:00 noon - 5:00pm at the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.  The night of the performance, tickets will be on sale one hour before the performance.

 

What: OHIO Women's Basketball vs. Kent State

When: 2 p.m.

Where: The Convo

Admission: Free for students, sibs $5

Wear pink in honor of breast cancer awareness. The first 200 to attend will receive free t-shirts.  

 

What: OHIO Men's Basketball vs. UNC-Ashville

When: 7 p.m.

Where: The Convo

Admission: Free for students, sibs $5

Attend the ESPN Blackout game. Free towels for first 4,000.

 

What: Recreational Ice Skating

When: 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Where: Bird Arena

Admission: Free for students, sibs $5

 

SUNDAY

What: Sibs Weekend Zip Line

When: Noon to 4 p.m.

Where: Outdoor Pursuits Challenge Course, The Ridges

Admission: $20 per person. The Outdoor Pursuits program will provide equipment and instruction while flying down a 300-foot zip line.

 

What: Symphonic Band and University Band Concert

When: 4 p.m.

Where: Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium

Admission: Free 

Features the Ohio University Symphonic Band and University Band under the direction of Dr. Richard

 

What: Recreational Ice Skating

When: 1:30 to 3 p.m and 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Where: Bird Arena

Admission: Free for students, $4 for guests
