Baker University Center hosts one of the eight original 'Back to the Future' DeLoreans

Behind the crowds of students and the sounds of classic 1980s music outside of Baker University Center sits one of the original DeLorean time machines used by Marty McFly and Doc Brown in the Back to the Future movies.

John Curtiss, a 2010 OU alumnus purchased the car from Universal Studios and wanted to show the car off to the students at his alma mater.

The car includes all the original props from the movie, including a Flux Capacitor, Hoverboard, and Mr. Fusion fuel tank.

The filmmakers used eight total Deloreans while shooting the trilogy. Curtiss’ DeLorean was used for several scenes in the second movie, Back to the Future: Part II, which came out in 1989.

Curtiss also came back to Athens to visit with his friend Kevin Lenahan, who recently reached national fame for being forced to remove a hot tub from his James Hall dorm room.

As dozens of students pose for photos with the classic vehicle, Curtiss has said that the car will be outside for the remainder of the afternoon.
