After 26 years of teaching at his alma mater, Tom Davis’ last day at Ohio University will be June 30.
Davis, secretary to the Board of Trustees and faculty member in the Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education, announced his retirement Wednesday. He makes $149,194.
Davis was the first secretary for the Board of Trustees to also be a faculty member, a position that made him a “groundbreaker,” said Becky Watts, chief of staff to OU President Roderick McDavis.
“Dr. Davis goes far beyond Board secretary, and his dedication and commitment to students and faculty peers and to staff and to the entire university community is exemplary,” Watts added. “His service will be sorely missed. We wish him all the best in his retirement.”
A search committee consisting of six or seven people will be formed once OU's five senates (Student, Graduate Student, Faculty, Administrative and Classified) submit nominees, Watts said.
The committee will conduct an internal search without support from an external search firm.
