Culinary Services recalls produce items after potential bacterial infection

Ohio University's Culinary Services has pulled several food items from its venues after a student employee exhibited symptoms that could be connected to a foodborne bacteria.

After the student employee experienced diarrhea and vomiting, tests were conducted that came back negative for potential bacteria, according to a university news release.

The recall of food items from several Culinary Services venues was a precautionary measure, according to the news release.

"Culinary Services has a comprehensive quality assurance/hazard analysis and critical points program to ensure that all of our products meet the highest standards of quality and freshness," the news release states.

Students and faculty members should wash their hands frequently and seek medical attention if they experience similar symptoms, according to the news release.
