Kaisers to team up with HAPCAP

The latest in a series of partnerships with various non-profit groups, the home of the ‘Boss Hog Challenge’ will be teaming up with a regional charity to delver Athens-made barbecue with a local conscience.

On Tuesday, March 13, Kiser’s BBQ shack, located at 1002 E. State St.,

will be donating 5 percent of its net sales to Hocking Athens Perry Community Action

.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 9 p.m.

HAPCAP representatives will offer opportunities to participants to get involved with the charity.

“Hocking Athens Perry Community Action mobilizes resources to empower individuals and communities through advocacy and quality services that promote self-sufficiency and improved quality of life,” according to a news release.

HAPCAP is looks to benefit local residents on multiple fronts by dividing its department into six parts: child and youth services, emergency services, food and nutrition, transportation, housing and community services.

Kiser’s BBQ Shack is also a participant in the 30 Mile Meal Menu, a movement that encourages Residents to eat local food.

The restaurant has also hosted other non-profits in its ‘Community Action Tuesday’ such as WOUB, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
