Ohio University's provost office has learned it will have another position that will need to be filled come next year.
Charles McWeeny, dean of the College of Fine Arts, announced in a email to the college Monday that on June 30, he will be stepping down as dean.
“He has contributed much to the running of the college,” said Ann Fidler, chief of staff to OU Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit.
McWeeny said he will still serve as a faculty member in the college.
McWeeny has been in the dean’s office for 11 years, spending the past seven as dean, and his current salary is $186,877.
An email was sent to all Group 1 faculty from the provost inviting all individuals with significant leadership and experience to apply for the interim position.
