Post Letter: Citizen requests explanation behind bankruptcy filing by commissioner candidate

Mr. Maiden,

I am a voting citizen who has a question for you. I now know you had to file personal bankruptcy in 2003, but you have never explained what really happened, yet at the same time you are asking for my vote.

You have been very vague and certainly not forthcoming about this damaging financial problem in your past. Knowing this fact leads me to wonder what other concerns you might be hiding from taxpayers while seeking the important office of county engineer.

Your 2003 financial failure is very disturbing to me, so I am voting for Mr. Archie Stanley. It seems unconvincing to voters how you keep negavitively attacking with false information and lies toward Archie Stanley and his impeccable work experience, when it is yourself that is the one with troubling irresponsible behavior.

You obviously didn’t want taxpayers to look long and hard at your past financial record, and that is a worry to myself and many others. And now I plead to taxpayers to bail you out once again. Bankrupted your business, bankrupted your campaign fund and next bankrupt the county. I have always said, “A glimpse of the past is a glimpse of the future.”

Mark Brown resides in Chauncey.
