I have witnessed Mike O’Brien’s volunteering a great deal of time for many other Democratic candidates in local, state and national elections. He has spent a great deal of time collecting signatures for important legislation in Ohio supporting unions and workers in our area and our state.
He has not popped up and conveniently associated himself with the local Democratic Party because it is expedient and based on personal needs, as I believe some of the candidates have done. He has been literally walking Dem talk for a long time. This says so much to me.
Someone willing to put in time for others who are qualified and to have stepped up to the plate to serve in the past, he now comes from behind the scenes in the Democratic Party to the forefront to take a seat at the head of the Democratic table. He has earned it.
He led on the fracking issue by doing a great deal of research, visiting fracking sites and talking with experts. It is going to be of utmost importance to have a county commissioner at the table who is incredibly well-informed and has taken a clear and solid stance about this issue at this critical time.

Mike O’Brien’s resumé has been built on direct involvement for others and our community, and he is widely admired and appreciated by many, especially by those who have been deeply involved with the Democratic Party and issues in our area.
