GSS plans to gather Campus Care feedback

A survey concerning patient satisfaction with Campus Care was the topic of discussion last night as Graduate Student Senate aimed to elevate the service’s quality of care.

Lauren Mente, a graduate student studying nursing and public health, teamed up with GSS members and Campus Care staff to plan the survey.

A lack of availability of insurance coverage information was among topics discussed by the senators, who also provided survey feedback before it becomes finalized.

“I am very happy with the suggestions we got,” said President Tracy Kelly.

Feedback from the survey, which will be released around the fifth week of Spring Quarter, will be presented to Campus Care staff upon completion, Kelly said.

“Hopefully we get a good response from Campus Care,” said GSS Board of Elections Chair John Hummell.

The survey included questions that measured satisfaction with amount of time in the waiting room, “convenience of location” and the helpfulness and friendliness of clinic staff.

Suggestions for survey reconstruction included separating the questions into categories in which patients would evaluate each sector of staff. Senators also asked for an additional comment box, because the survey was originally laid out to be multiple choice.

In regards to insurance concerns, senators noted there should be questions regarding whether patients know what their health insurance covers.

The survey may be available in different languages, said Kelly, adding that the goal is to make it as efficient and accessible as possible for graduate students.

“We want it to be online and we want it to be distributed to students after their visits,” Kelly said.
