Stalley, Savage Journey To The American Dream
After dropping two mixtapes and one independently produced album, new sensation Stalley has surely announced his arrival in the rap industry.
Coming off his performance at Ohio University for the Sibs Weekend concert in February, Stalley has come out with his newly released third mixtape, Savage Journey To The American Dream. Released to the public for free on March 30, his latest project is a musical gem. Stalley, who represents Rick Ross’s label Maybach Music Group MMG, teams up with producer Block Beattaz for this tape and both prove to be a good duo for projects in the future ahead. The entire mixtape comprises smooth, mellow beats along with a lurking bass that entwine with Stalley’s voice flawlessly.
Featured throughout the tape are additional MMG members Rick Ross, Wale and Meek Mill, in addition to other renowned rappers such as Currensy and 2 Chainz. Stalley had previewed his mixtape and allowed the public to listen to one of his prized songs featuring Currensy, “Hammers and Vogues,” weeks before the release of the mixtape itself.
He also introduces a fresh, new R&B voice from Anthony Flammia, who is featured on one of the more catchy tunes, “Home To You,” which also features Wale.
For those who have been unaware of him, Stalley, formally known as Kyle Myricks, is a native to Massillon, Ohio and used to be a Division I recruit for the University of Michigan. He transferred to play basketball for Long Island University, but injuries prevented him from building a basketball career at both universities and instead stayed in New York to develop his music career.
In addition to his appearance in Athens for the Ohio Takeover Tour, Stalley also performed with recognized headliners Big K.R.I.T and Dom Kennedy. He is known to proudly represent the state of Ohio and has also been known to show off Ohio Bobcats gear as well, such as in one of his collaborative music videos (watch it here). Expect to see Stalley become a household name with popular rap artists and making more good music in the near future.
