Ohio University will cross county lines with a new economic development program to be announced Thursday.
In a joint noon conference, OU President Roderick McDavis and Ohio State University President Gordon Gee will announce a new partnership for economic development. The announcement will be held at OSU’s Technology Commercialization & Knowledge Transfer Office, according to the news release.
“This is completely different; it’s a unique partnership,” said Shelly Hoffman, an OSU spokeswoman.
Mark Kvamme, president and interim chief investment officer of JobsOhio, will also be present at the conference.
JobsOhio is a private, nonprofit corporation with a goal of “enabling Ohio to be more nimble, flexible and competitive in its economic development efforts,” according to its website.
The partnership has been in development for several months, said Becky Watts, chief of staff to OU President Roderick McDavis.
The announcement will be broadcast via live webcast.
