yOU treasurer candidate bows out of senate race

After facing a disorderly conduct violation, yOU’s treasurer candidate has decided to drop out of the Student Senate election race.

Eric Holley, a junior studying finance and economics, was charged with disorderly conduct Feb. 27.

Holley walked from Uptown intoxicated where the Athens Police ticketed him. The charges have since been dropped.

“I have learned quite a lesson from this whole situation and am extremely sorry for my actions and how they have possibly affected others,” Holley said in an email.

The Dean of Students office, however, has not disqualified him.

Holley’s decision to quit the ticket was made jointly between yOU’s presidential candidate Tony Koehling and Holley.

“He would’ve been good for Student Senate,” said Koheling, a junior studying political science. “Everyone has something in the past.”
