The Pick of the Week for Week 6 goes to the front page design on Monday's paper, which set the mood perfectly for the aftermath and coverage of Palmer Fest. Designed by Ashley Cappellazzi, the page highlighted the fest by taking a photo above the nameplate, even altering the nameplate to make room for it and give it more attention. This treatment is not and should not be used often, but instead reserved for larger stories and instances when the impact of the page would really benefit from the alteration. Since Palmer Fest is a notoriously popular event and this year was especially newsworthy with a house fire, the treatment could be justified.
