A mid-afternoon storm interrupted Monday’s sunshine and also cut the power to many of Ohio University’s buildings.
Some of OU’s West Green buildings lost power, including James Hall, The Convo and Boyd Hall.
OU’s electric, which has transmission service provided by American Electric Power, is responsible to maintain its own electric distribution system and restoring power, said Jeff Rennie, an AEP spokesman.
Clippinger Laboratories, Porter, Grover and Brown Halls were also without power.
UPDATE: All buildings on West Green have restored power, some buildings on South Green remain without it.
Facilities Management is currently working to resolve the problem, said Katie Quaranta, a university spokeswoman.
