Ohio University has appointed Kenneth Johnson as the new dean of its Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Johnson will start in the new position Aug. 20.
“Dr. Johnson has the knowledge and the experience necessary to guide the medical college as it works to realize its new vision for the future of medical education,” said Pam Benoit, vice president and provost, in a university news release.
Johnson was the associate dean for educational programs and vice dean at the University of New England's College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. Johnson also has served as the associate dean of clinical education and interim associate dean of clinical affairs, according to a previous Post article.
“As the new dean, I am looking forward to serving and building on the great work that has brought OU-HCOM into the forefront of osteopathic medical education,” Johnson said in the news release.
Johnson will replace previous OU-HCOM dean Jack Brose, who made $216,373 in his dean position.
The nationwide search to replace Brose cost OU more than $25,000, according to a previous Post article.
