Trentacoste starts as new executive director of residential housing

Peter Trentacoste started his position as Ohio University’s executive director of Residential Housing last Monday.

Kent Smith, former vice president for Student Affairs, appointed Trentacoste in April after narrowing a nationwide search down to four candidates, according to a previous article in The Post.

Trentacoste was previously the interim assistant vice president for Student Affairs at Northern Kentucky University. He will make $107,000 at OU.

“He’s a very successful leader,” said Ryan Lombardi, interim vice president for Student Affairs. “He also comes with great experience, and I think he’ll be pretty good in this role.”

Christine Sheets was promoted to assistant vice president for capital and facilities planning for the Division of Student Affairs in February after serving as executive director of Residential Housing for three years. Sheets maintained her $108,896 salary.

“I'm getting in here, getting to know the staff. I’m excited to meet a lot of students when they get back here in the fall,” Trentacose said. “In terms of future plans, my first goal is to get to know the staff and students as well as possible and to understand their needs.”
