Students passing through the third floor of Baker University Center this afternoon may be surprised to hear the blasting of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” breaking the normality of the daily academic grind.
Student Senate is unveiling its new schedule for the Senate Appropriations Commission complete with music and candy for those passing by today.
“With the change to semesters, we now offer a 15-week SAC funding process,” said Tina Kongkeo, a senior studying industrial and systems engineering as she handed out fliers to advertise SAC’s new schedule.
SAC is a student-led commission that can allocate funds for events around campus, working alongside Student Senate. The new 15-week calendar provides time for three different workshop dates, giving students the proper preparation to petition for funds.
“We will be offering workshops in weeks two, three and six. All of our information can be found on these fliers (we’re handing out),” Kongkeo said.
Student Senate closed up shop today at 2:00 pm, but will be returning to the third floor of Baker next week.
