After completing the Academy program through Ohio University and the Athens Sheriff Department at the end of last spring, Jen Atkins was hired as a deputy at the Sheriff's Department in mid-June.
Jen Atkins, a senior at Ohio University, is an environmental deputy for the Athens County Sheriff’s Office. After completing the academy with the sheriff’s office last June, she was hired as a deputy. Atkins works 30 hours a week in addition to taking 15 credit hours of classes.
