Students are once again gearing up for a Number Fest day full of music, mud and alcohol.
Dominic Petrozzi, the event’s founder, said he and Prime Social Group focused primarily on the fest’s music and production value. Number Fest will include a few updates including an additional stage, giveaways and a tailgate zone.
“Having the tailgate zone is something we’re really excited about,” he said. “There will also be a lot more giveaways and opportunities to take home some free stuff including Number Fest memorabilia this year. “
The founder added that he expects an action-packed entertainment lineup, despite one of the headliners, Stalley, opting out after receiving an invitation to tour with BET.
“It was such a great opportunity for an Ohio musician, and we weren’t going to try to fight the powers that be,” Petrozzi said of Stalley’s decision to tour with BET. “Obviously, it’s a bit bigger event than the fest here.”
The lineup will include Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J, Hodgie Street, Cal Scruby, Coyote Kisses, 3LAU, roeVy, Jean P. and Dave Rave.
“The overall entrainment lineup is definitely boasting some bigger names,” Petrozzi said. “I’m really excited to see Juicy J. interact with the fan base, and we’re excited to see his performance.”
Local artist Jean P. is also excited to take the stage, making his first appearance at Number Fest.
“I’ve been preparing for this show even when I wasn’t a part of it,” he said. “I knew my chance to perform at a fest would come, so I’m coming.“
Local DJ duo and Number Fest veteran Dave Rave is also preparing to step into the spotlight once again, ending the long day with hip-hop, raps and electronic music.
“I’m always working on new bootlegs and mash-ups and ready to drop them on the 10Fest crowd,” said Dave Rave DJ Brandon Thompson. “I’ll be running through my music library trying to find those magic tracks that I think will make the crowd go wild. I’ll also be doing a reverse rain dance every day.”
Thompson added that he expects the party to be bigger and better than ever.
“I expect the crowd to be partying like the Mayans were right and the end is coming,” he said. “I am hoping this 10Fest goes completely ham with the amount of talent on the bill. Oh, and lots of mud.”
