Annual Hall Council Retreat scheduled this weekend

This Saturday, students will take part in leadership activities, games, and service events as a part of the Hall Council Retreat for Resident Assistants and Hall Council members.

The retreat serves as an annual event for staff, students and administrators to share ideas and brainstorm events and activities for the various Hall Councils to provide for residence halls, said Erin Edwards, Residential Housing Coordinator

Nearly 200 students and RAs have registered to attend this event beginning in the Baker University Center Ballroom at 11 a.m.

Students registered to attend the retreat will receive a free tote bag, free lunch and will be able to gather raffle tickets for prizes at the various games and program stations.

Peter Trentacoste, executive director of Residential Housing, will be attending the retreat as this year’s guest speaker along with speakers from other universities.

As a service project, the Hall Council team will also be sponsoring a canned food drive during the retreat for Good Works, a group devoted to helping those families in poverty in rural Appalachia, according to their website.

Students wishing to get involved in Hall Council or attend The Hall Council Retreat should contact their RAs and register for the retreat here.
