Council to discuss Halloween preparations, infrastructure, wages

In tonight’s City Council Meeting several ordinances will be brought up for their third, second, and first rounds of discussion. Topics of ordinances cover subjects that include Halloween Weekend, land acquisition and city repairs, among others.

Councilmember Elahu Gosney, D-At Large, has introduced several ordinances in regard to Halloween weekend.

New ordinances brought up tonight involve funding and beginning repairs and improvements of current city structures: Cupola building, sidewalks around North Court Street, Columbus and Lancaster Street infrastructure, Safe Routes to Schools Project and city water wells.

The council will discuss the three-year agreement with the American Federation of Municipal Employees concerning wages and working conditions, and a new ordinance for the acquisition of a property at 83 Columbus discussed at last week's meeting.
