Four men were indicted on 14 felony counts each after allegedly robbing and stabbing an elderly woman in Coolville in January.
Brandon Baker, 19; Cody Stout, 23; Colin Stout, 20 and Christopher Fleming, 20, allegedly attacked 82-year-old Ota Vincent at her Brandberry Road residence in Coolville on Jan. 24. The four men allegedly attacked Vincent during the night, severely beat her and stabbed her in the neck and shoulder area before robbing her, according to court documents.
The four men were all indicted Thursday on two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of kidnapping, one count of attempted murder, one count of abduction, one count of tampering with evidence, one count of theft of drugs, one count of theft from the elderly and one count of theft.
Vincent was disoriented after the event and was unable to call 9-1-1 for several hours. She was transported to Camden Clark Memorial in Parkersburg before being moved to a Columbus hospital for months of rehabilitation, according to a release from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
Detective Jack Taylor received an arrest warrant for Baker, Fleming and Colin Stout Tuesday. Fleming and Baker were arrested at their joint residence in Belpre and Colin Stout was arrested at his residence in Coolville.
The next day, Cody Stout was arrested at his residence also in Coolville.
Originally Baker and Colin Stout were charged with one count of aggravated burglary and one count of felonious assault. Fleming and Cody Stout were both charged with complicity to commit aggravated burglary and felonious assault.
All four men are being held on $100,000 bond at Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
The four men could each be sentenced to a maximum of 94 years and six months prison and a maximum fine of $200,000 if convicted of all 14 charges at a trial, according to the Ohio Revised Code.
