Obama to visit Kent State and Bowling Green Wednesday

President Barack Obama will visit Bowling Green State University and Kent State University for campaign events Wednesday.

The president will be at the universities for "grassroots events" and will encourage Ohioans to vote early beginning Oct. 2 and to register to vote before the Oct. 9 deadline, according to a news release from Obama for America.

Obama is scheduled to be at Bowling Green's Stroh Center at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday and Kent State's Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center at 5:30 p.m. the same day.

Information regarding tickets to the events was not released.

The visits are the latest in a series of appearances at Ohio colleges including visits to Cleveland State University in February, University of Dayton and Ohio State University in March, the Lorain County Community College in April, OSU again in May and the Cuyahoga Community College in July.

Vice President Joe Biden visited Athens, but not specifically Ohio University, on Sept. 8.

Obama leads his Republican challenger Mitt Romney by 5 percentage points, according to an Ohio Newspaper Organization poll released Saturday.

How important do you think the student vote will be in the presidential election in November?
