Paul Ryan's musical rejection

Five days after Paul Ryan was selected as Mitt Romney’s running mate for the Republican ticket, he had already found himself up against the opposition, but it had nothing to do with his Democratic opponents.

In previous appearances, Ryan voiced his appreciation for rock bands AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and Rage Against the Machine, according to a Huffington Post blog.

On Aug. 16, Tom Morello, Rage Against the Machine guitarist, rejected Ryan as a fan through his co-editorial in Rolling Stone.

Morello said that he found it funny that Ryan supported Rage Against the Machine, since the band has been against the epitome of what Ryan supports for the 20 years that it’s been around.

Morello went on to muse about what Ryan’s favorite song was of Rage Against the Machine and commented that Ryan had rage against the working class and homosexuals, reported Rolling Stone.

A similar affair with a different rock band also took place on Aug. 16, when The Silversun Pickups sent the Romney campaign a cease-and-desist order to stop playing their song “Panic Switch.” The band stated that they didn’t want their music affiliated with the Romney campaign, according to a Rolling Stone article.
