Student Senate will vote tonight on a resolution that strongly encourages the university to take action against using conflict minerals.
The resolution has continually been introduced and passed at the Senate the past three years, said Kari Nickell, the public relations director for Student Senate.
Although the Senate invited Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit and Vice President for Finance and Administration Stephen Golding to this week’s meeting, both were not able to attend because of previous commitments.
In a meeting with Senate executives Tuesday night, Golding told the executives that Benoit and himself will attend next week’s meeting.
The administrators have been invited to defend recent administrative raises that coincide with a 3.5 percent tuition hike on students.
