Ohio University students will have the opportunity to debate about finances and the upcoming election on Thursday.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a game called “Budget Hero: Election Edition” from 3:30 to 5:30 in Bentley Hall 227.
“(The game was) created by the Woodrow Wilson Center's Serious Games Initiative with data from the Congressional Budget Office and a wide variety of other vetted sources,” according to a news release.
Budget Hero is designed to engage the public in debates over the federal budget, allowing the audience to see how long it takes for their budget to “go bust,” according to the news release.
It also addresses dozens of potential new budget policy options, including proposals from both President Obama and presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
The event will include speakers such as Mark Weinberg, OU professor and director of Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, Michael Burton, OU associate professor of the Department of Political Science and Jay Ryu, OU associate professor of the Department of Political Science.
