Four men pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday to attacking, robbing and stabbing an elderly woman in Coolville in January.
Brandon Baker, 19; Cody Stout, 23; Colin Stout, 20; and Christopher Fleming, 20, pleaded not guilty to attacking Ota Vincent, 82, at her residence Jan. 24.
The four men are charged with attacking Vincent during the night, severely beating her and stabbing her in the neck and shoulder area before robbing her, according to court documents.
Baker, Fleming and Cody and Colin Stout are all charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of kidnapping, one count of attempted murder, one count of abduction, one count of tampering with evidence, one count of theft of drugs, one count of theft from the elderly and one count of theft.
Athens County Sheriff’s Detective Jack Taylor arrested Baker and Fleming at their residence in Belpre Sept. 25. Colin Stout was arrested the same day at his residence in Coolville, and Cody Stout was arrested a day later at his Coolville residence.
All four men are being held on $100,000 bond at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
They could each be sentenced to a maximum of 94 years and six months in prison and a maximum fine of $200,000 if convicted of all 14 charges at a trial, according to the Ohio Revised Code.
The four men are due back in court Oct. 17 for a status conference.
