17-year-old girl missing from Hocking College campus found, Sheriff says

UPDATE: Megan Lea Morgan, 17, who was reported missing Tuesday night by the Hocking College Police Department, has been found in Athens, according to a Facebook post by Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly. More details to come.

The Athens County Public Information Officer Network has issued a missing person alert.

Megan Lea Morgan, 17, was last seen 9 a.m. Tuesday on Hocking College’s Nelsonville campus.

Morgan is listed as 5 feet tall, 160 pounds with blond hair and brown eyes. She is described as wearing a black Adidas sweatshirt, jeans and brown suede boots.

There is no solid lead on Morgan's whereabouts but officers from the Hocking College Police Department  are working with Morgan's family to uncover where she might be, said Al Matthews, police chief.

The Athens County Sheriff's Office has not been involved in the investigation thus far, Matthews said. He said Athens Police have been asked to follow up with some people in Athens who are believed to know Morgan.

"We have involved other departments about checking addresses of people who she knows and socializes with," Matthews said.

Athens Police could not be reached for comment.

Those with information about Morgan’s whereabouts are asked to call 911 or contact the Hocking College Police Department at 740-753-6598.
