The Ohio University Governance Committee did not have any resolutions to discuss on at Thursday’s meeting.
Instead, the trustees discussed editorial changes to bylaws in addition to the Association of Governing Board Webinar which was held in October.
“We passed some editorial changes to bylaws,” said Janetta King, chairwoman of the Governance Committee.
OU Trustee Secretary Peter Mather, said that one concern with bylaws was an "issue of forum."
“The question that came up at our last meeting was to see what would pass as a resolution,” Mather said. “Would you need five votes or a majority of the votes to pass,” he asked the committee.

rustees agreed that the best practice would be to require a majority vote.

he Governance Committee also gave an update on the Annual Ohio Trustee Conference.

We need to think strategically and see what we need to do to better improve the University in the future,” said trustee Henry Heilbrunn.
