After the Pi Kappa Alphas’ landlord tried to evict the fraternity from their house last year, the two parties have come to an agreement and dismissed their lawsuit last month.
Demetrios Prokos, landlord for the Pikes’ 12 N. College St. house, tried to have the 12 residents of the house evicted in March for illegal activity and for missing rent from two residents, according to court documents.
On Oct. 19, Prokos and the Pikes agreed to joint terms and had the lawsuit dismissed with prejudice, meaning neither party can re-file the lawsuit.
Shortly before Prokos filed the eviction lawsuit, the Athens Police Department executed a search warrant at the Pike house and seized 16 pipes, one water pipe, one grinder, two bags of marijuana and one book.
As part of the agreement, Prokos does not have to return the Pikes’ security deposit for the house, and the Pikes do not have to pay the $2,360 Prokos claimed they own him, according to court documents.
