Ohio University’s provost office named Scott Titsworth the new dean of the Scripps College of Communication.
Titsworth has served as the interim of the college since June 2011 after Greg Shepard was offered an $80,000 buyout option and left the position for the University of Miami.
"Scott believes that a college that puts a premium on interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships will be an international leader in the changing media landscape,” said Pam Benoit, executive vice president and provost, in a news release.
As a Scripps faculty member, Titsworth served as the director for Communication Studies, the associate director for graduate studies and basic course director, according to the release.
Titsworth’s 2012-13 salary is $150,000.
