The Ohio University Performing Arts Series has announced that 2012 American Idol winner Phillip Phillips will take the stage of the Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium April 17.
Since his American Idol victory, Phillips' album, “The World from the Side of the Moon,” debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, and his single “Home” has sold more than 3 million copies.
In January, Phillips will stop at 10 other colleges with a four-piece acoustic band before going on tour with Matchbox Twenty. The opening act for his OU performance has not yet been announced, but Phillips will perform with a full band accompaniment.
Tickets for the show go on sale for students Jan. 15, and to the public Jan. 16, with a limit of five tickets per person.
