Gallipolis man pleads guilty to three felony charges

A Gallipolis man who pleaded guilty to three felony charges was sentenced to three years in prison at his sentencing hearing Friday.

Jason Holcomb-French, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of grand theft auto of a motor vehicle and two counts of forgery and was sentenced by Judge L. Alan Goldsberry in the Athens County Court of Common Pleas.

These charges stem from an incident last October when Holcomb-French presented foraged financial documents at a Nelsonville auto dealership in order to fraudulently purchase a car, according to a news release from the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.

Judge Goldsberry sentenced Holcomb-French to a one-year prison sentence for each felony charge.

Holcomb-French will serve these sentences consecutively for a total of three years.
