OU Improv groups to pay homage to GIRLS

Ohio University Improv, sponsored by HBO, will perform a show Thursday, which will honor the network’s hit show GIRLS.

The troupe will be handing out tickets at the beginning of the show that make attendees eligible to win one of three HBO prize baskets. Both entry to the show and these tickets will be free.

GIRLS is a comedy-drama series that that follows twenty-somethings as they attempt to figure out their newly adult lives in New York City. The second season premiered on January 13th, and was recently renewed for a third season.

The event will begin at 9 p.m. in Baker Center Theater, and will feature improv regular comedy sets from both Black Sheep Inc. and Six to Midnight.  Prizes will be raffled off at the end of the show.

OU Improv approaches the concept of a sponsored show humorously, including in the Facebook event description, “Remember, we’re not selling out if the show we’re selling out for is actually funny. We’re still cool.”
