Don't panic, it's only a test.
Ohio University's Athens campus will test its emergency communications system Friday Jan. 25 at noon.
Emergency Programs will test all of its alert systems, including text message and web page alerts, CATVision emergency notification system and an outdoor alert tone and message that will be played from various outdoor speakers around campus.
OU tests its emergency communication system periodically to ensure that all systems are functioning properly and inform the campus what would happen in a real emergency, according to a news release.
You can sign up for emergency text notifications on OU's Emergency Programs page under "Emergency Notification System by clicking here.
