Feminist poster campaign holding open photoshoot for students

Ohio University Student Senate will be working for the next few weeks to highlight student feminism — and why that word should not scare people away.

College of Arts and Sciences Senator Emily Burns and Women’s Affairs Commissioner Emma Wright have brought back the “This Is What an OU Feminist Looks Like” poster campaign, featuring the faces of both male and female students.

“We really want to get the message out there that feminists aren’t just bra burning, man hating socialists,” Burns said.

Burns and Wright are taking pictures of any student interested in being part of the campaign today until 5:30p.m. in room 230 in Baker University Center.

Participants have to fill out a model release form, stating they are affiliated with OU and over 18 years old.

Burns hopes to have hundreds of diverse faces for the posters and will announce more dates for students to get involved depending on the success of today’s photo-shoot.
