One day before his latest album, All That Echoes, hits stores, Josh Groban has planned something special for his fans.
The Athena Grand, 1008 E. State St., in association with NCM Fathom Events and Warner Bros. Records, is presenting the music of the pop musician for one night only with Josh Groban Live: All That Echoes, a broadcasted concert event that will feature hits from Groban’s 12-year career and selections from his new album.
“I think fans get a chance to see Josh Groban in a way they otherwise would not get,” said Rick Frame, manager of the Athena Grand. “(The event is) much more personal. It’s like watching a live sporting event on TV, only bigger and better. You will see and hear things that you would not see or hear if you were there in person.”
In addition to the concert, fans will also get the chance to talk to the pop star through an exclusive question-and-answer session. Through the Twitter hashtag #AskJosh or by texting using the number provided on screen, fans will be able to speak exclusively with the musician and have their questions answered immediately on screen.
“For one night only, fans can ask Josh anything they want and there’s a chance he could answer their question during a national event,” said Michelle Portillo, senior manager of PR and Communications at NCM Fathom.
Groban will be performing the event in The Allen Room in New York City on Monday night. Songs selected for the concert will be determined based on requests made by the fans.
“This highly anticipated musical event will be an amazing visual and audio experience for Josh Groban fans as he serenades audiences from the Allen Room and its magnificent backdrop of New York’s Central Park,” said Dan Diamond, senior vice president of NCM Fathom Events. “Movie theaters across the country will be transformed into a romantic concert as Josh debuts songs from his new album just in time for Valentine’s Day.”
Tickets can be bought either through the NCM Fathom or Athena Grand websites or at the box office.
This event will not be the first time a Q-and-A session has been available via NCM Fathom. In November, the event broadcasters also featured a live Bon Jovi Q-and-A, and Portillo stated that the fans enjoyed having the chance to ask their own questions and have them answered by the band.
“To have the chance to perform songs new and old and interact with fans across the country is truly awesome,” Groban said in a news release. “Fathom gives me that reach using state-of-the-art visual and sound at your local movie theater to experience a concert experience unique to any other. What a great way to kick off the album release!”
