December's AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl cost Ohio University $502,445.30.
A report released by Athletics Thursday broke down the expenditures for the trip, which included transportation, lodging, meals, advertising, bowl rings and $20,877.38 listed for "miscellaneous."
Ohio's football team traveled to Shreveport, La. in December for the Independence Bowl and won 45-14 against the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
A portion of the expenditure total was covered by $400,000 in bowl revenue distribution and $23,876 in ticket revenue. OU paid the rest, $78,569, with money set aside in the General Fee's Post Season Reserve Budget.
The bowl cost $15,762.87 more than last year's Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, whose expenses totaled $486,682.43.
Last season's bowl revenue distribution totaled $475,000, and Ohio received $1,960 in ticket revenue.
Ohio pulled $9,722.43 from the General Fee to cover the remaining costs for last year's bowl.
