OU online services to be down

The online glue that governs the lives of Ohio University students will be crashing this Saturday — but don’t worry, it was planned.

Scheduled maintenance for My OHIO Student Center, PeopleSoft and other services OU students use frequently to register for classes, check grades, pay bills and communicate with teachers will be down this weekend, said Sean O’Malley, OU’s IT communications manager in a campus-wide email.

“Every three months, Oracle releases a major update to PeopleSoft. These bundles, as they are called, normally take a whole weekend to install,” O’Malley said. “Since that is longer than our normal maintenance windows, I like to emphasize that it is extended maintenance in any notices I send out.”

The system will be closed form 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 to 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, according to the email.

The total list of affected services include: My OHIO Student Center, the Faculty & Advising Center, Course Offerings, PeopleSoft administrative screens, Authorize User payment portal and MyHousing, along with various lesser services, according to the email.
