Pair of Athens residents arrested for manufacturing crystal meth and endangering children

Two Athens residents were arrested in Canaanville Wednesday night for manufacturing crystal methamphetamine and endangering children.

The Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested David Schuetzman, 50, and Samantha Hummel, 25, after the Narcotics Enforcement Team found an operating meth lab with children living in the residence.

The meth lab was located inside Schuetzman's garage, along with sixteen bottles of methamphetamine, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested the residents for illegally assembling or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs — a Felony 1 crime — and endangering children — a Felony 2 crime.

Schuetzman and Hummel were transported to the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail, where they are currently being held.
