Lt. Anthony Fish confirmed that the Athens Police Department has a suspect in custody after responding early Wednesday morning to reported gunshots on East State Street.
The investigation is still ongoing.

Five gunshots were heard on East State Street early Wednesday morning.
Sabrina Reda, a resident of East State Street, confirmed the shots and said the road is currently closed.
The Athens Police Department has not confirmed the incident.
