For top student leaders, politics stops for nothing — except basketball.
Student Senate President Zach George announced Wednesday morning that Wednesday night’s General Body meeting will be canceled due to Ohio’s basketball game against Akron.
“A number of people indicated that they intended on sending proxies to this weeks meeting (due to the game),” George said, in the email. “Meetings will resume after spring break on 3/13/2013.”
Senate was set to vote on an amended version of the resolution that would give the body’s endorsement to a plan that would require Ohio University students to register “emergency information” with OU — including their cell phone number and off-campus address.
Senate will be voting on that resolution, with an amendment giving students an “opt-out option,” the week after spring break.
