Four crimes from January and Feburary — including the “blue-hooded bandit” armed robbery — still remain unsolved.
Athens County Crime Solvers Anonymous issued a release naming four March 2013 “Crimes of the Month,” which offers a $2,000 reward for information on the crimes that would lead to the arrests of persons responsible.
Athens Police Department is requesting information about the Jan. 31 armed robbery at the Station St. Apartments that prompted Ohio University to close for non-weather related reasons for the first time since 1970.
The suspect is described as a 6’01” or 6’02” black male, about 30-35 years old with a goatee — last seen in the vicinity of OU’s West Green, according to the release.
APD also requests information about a Feb. 23 altercation in the parking lot between Cornwell Jewelers, 77 N. Court St., and Courtside Pizza, 85 N. Court St., that resulted in the stabbing of a man, according to the release.
The suspect — described as a 5’10” white male in his early twenties, with blonde/brown hair — stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing the area, according to the release.
Ohio University Police Department requests information about two incidents that occurred on East Green in late February.
On Feb. 19 at approximately 7:00 p.m., a man holding a knife attempted to rob a woman on Edgehill Drive, near Tiffin Hall.
The woman did not cooperate and fled the area, according to the release.
The second incident took place in Tiffin Hall on Feb. 23.
Between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. the suspect set approximately eight small fires in the residence hall, resulting in minor damage to carpet.
Any person who has information on these crimes are encouraged to call Athens County Crime Solvers Anonymous at (740)-594-3331.
